Silver has been used as an antimicrobial for centuries. Silverlon uses the power of silver in a unique way, by plating every fiber of the dressing with pure silver. Silverlon has been used in every setting from the battlefield to the operating room, and is backed by multiple clinical studies*.
Every surface is antimicrobial, and in independent laboratory tests, has been shown to kill many pathogens in the fabric, including drug resistant pathogens and fungi.
Silverlon contains a huge reservoir of silver ions, which kill pathogens by at least three different mechanisms. In effect, pathogens can’t eat, breathe, or replicate.
Silver plating is the key
Silverlon™ is a nylon material coated with 99% pure silver and 1% silver oxide. When silver ions are activated with moisture, the ions kill a wide range of pathogens held within the material. Silverlon™ has been tested effective against many pathogens, including drug resistant pathogens such as MRSA.*
Silverlon Wound Dressings have been used for years in the military and in hospitals around the world. This technology is battle-tested and has received sixteen (16) 510(k) clearances from the FDA for use as an antimicrobial dressing in surgery, burn, trauma, vascular access and wound care.
Silver has the unique ability to kill many pathogens by at least 3 different ways.
Argentum Medical is currently conducting testing to determine if the Silverlon material has an effect on the SARS-CoV-2 virus. If effective, Argentum Medical plans to submit testing data to the FDA to expand EUA authorization claims. See disclaimer below and click here to be notified of testing results.
1. Recommend washing prior to first use and daily thereafter, or between users, whichever comes first. Can be washed up to 30 times and will retain its antimicrobial property when washed per the cleaning process below.
2. Put loops over ears and adjust to comfort. Ensure coverage of the nose and mouth.
3. To remove contaminated mask, avoid touching outer layer of mask or your face. Remove from ears, only touching loops, and immediately put into washer or safe storage.
