Antimicrobial Silver IV / Catheter Dressing
Professional Guidelines For Use
|
Indications:
For topical antimicrobial protection around IV catheters, central venous lines, arterial catheters, dialysis catheters, PICC, drains, chest tubes, external orthopedic pins, and epidural catheters.
Directions:
- Prepare the skin around catheter site according to hospital protocol.
- Remove Silverlon® dressing from pouch using sterile technique.
- Activate the dressing by wetting it with sterile water, distilled water, or saline.

Place the Silverlon® dressing around the catheter with the silver side down and in direct contact with the skin.

Secure catheter and Silverlon® with a transparent film dressing or conventional technique.

Change dressing based on exudate build up or catheter insertion site condition.

May be used up to 7 days.
Caution:

Do Not use on patients with known sensitivity to silver or nylon.

Sterility not guaranteed if package is opened or damaged.
