Silverlon^® Surgical Dressings are the safest and most powerful antimicrobial surgical barrier wound dressings available, and should be placed in primary contact with the surgical incision. Silverlon® Surgical Dressings are different (Cura Surgical).

All Silverlon^® Surgical Dressings are composed of a wound contact layer of Silverlon^® and an absorbency pad. Silverlon^® Pad Dressings have a patent pending backing layer of perforated polyurethane film that allows moisture to be released from or added to the absorbency pad for non adherence and easy inspection. Silverlon^® Island Surgical Dressings have a 2 inch of tape border. In both cases, the Silverlon^® wound contact layer provides an antimicrobial barrier to all known environmental and wound pathogens. All Silverlon^® Antimicrobial Surgical Dressings and its packaging are Latex Free.

• Cleanse the incision using standard protocols.
• Activate Silverlon^® by wetting the entire silver surface with sterile water or saline (See Wetting Tips)
• Remove the release liner from the adhesive tape.
• Center and secure the Silverlon^® Island Dressing (silver surface down) directly over the surgical incision and onto peri-wound skin. Gently press down the tape borders to ensure good skin contact.

1. Remove dressing from pouch and fold back the release liner exposing the Silver pad keeping the adhesive tape borders covered on the sides.



2. Using a bulb or piston syringe, or a bottle of sterile water or saline, evenly wet the entire silver pad surface with 15 to 45 mL of wetting agent to ensure moisture level throughout the pad.

• For external application only.
• Silverlon^® dressings are contraindicated for patients with known sensitivity to silver or nylon.
• Silverlon^® Surgical Dressings have been reported to reduce the pain, swelling and inflammation from acute wounds.

• The Silverlon^® dressing should be left in place and worn continually for 7 days.



• If the physician’s orders allow the patient to shower, the dressing is to be left on at all time. It is ok to get it wet.



• If the dressing adhesive boarder begins to peal away from the patient’s skin, the patient may add addition surgical tape to hold the dressing in place.



• The dressing will be removed at the physician office on the first post-op follow up visit or at the professional discretion of the clinical staff.
