Dear Mr. Miller,
I would like to sing the praises of Silverlon Dressing!!!! I was diagnosed with bilateral Charcot foot in 1999. I have been in a wheelchair most of that time due to micro fractures, ulcerations and post surgical complications. I have had multiple surgeries to alleviate protruding bones and ulcerations from the plantar surfaces of both feet. Since I am diabetic, I had a very difficult time healing (plantar surfaces only). The left foot took just over a year and the right foot just closed after 22 months of treatment.

I am under the care of my doctor from the Aurora System Wound Care Centers in Wisconsin. In April, 2004, I had "preventative" surgery on the right foot to remove a protruding bone from the plantar surface so that it would not ulcerate (as the left foot did). My doctor and his team used treatments ranging from hyperbarics, Sonica cleansing, VAC dressings............... you name it to attempt to heal this wound. I had 3 PICC lines for IV Vancomycin therapy and LONG term antibiotic use as the wound would not close and the foot was almost always hot, red, and swollen. As I was preparing myself for probable amputation, my doctor suggested we try Silverlon Dressing. Within 2 weeks there was a noticeable change in the wound and within 4 weeks it had "shrunken" approximately 50% in size and depth. The foot was not as red, or swollen, either. Now the wound is completely closed and I am beginning to walk on it. Excellent product. Experienced dramatic change in wound healing in just 2 days from initial usage. In one month time, size of wound has decreased significantly. My husband has been using this product (Silverlon) for about 6 weeks, and the results have been fantastic. Before using Silverlon, you could almost see the bone on the bottom of his foot, and if he put his finger in the ulcer, he could touch the bone underneath. After such a short time, the skin inside the ulcer has grown, and hardly separates. He's had this foot ulcer for about 2 years, and it had never healed at such a fast pace. It's a great product, and we will recommend it to anyone who has this problem.

My first experience with Silverlon was in 2001 after I had dislocated a shoulder in a skiing accident. The pain from the injury kept me awake most of the night until I had a harness constructed that directly applied Silverlon to the Joint. From the very first night of use the pain disappeared and never came back again while the Silverlon harness was used. After that I began applying Silverlon contact dressings to my hips and knees during exercize and experienced none of the pain in those areas that I had been enduring for years. Finally, I had a pair of Silverlon shorts made that I now wear during hiking or whenever hip pain appears and have experienced total relief. For arthritic, inflamed areas of the body, I know of no better remedy than the application of a Silverlon contact dressing.

I have been an athlete all my life. Hard core athlete - that is: Participated in Winter Olympics in 1976 (skiing) and have always considered my body to be the most important “tool” of my life even at 63 (I live in such an active mountain community, that 70’ and 80’ are still active years).

After running a recent (August 2004) race Pike’s Peak Assent (from5 000 ft. plus starting to 14 000 ft plus ending) and developing a big, nasty and painful blister on my heel, I was concerned that it will unable me to hike and bike for the beautiful fall days to come. Gene (my at home 24/7 “healer”) persuaded me to put the silver band-aid (Silverlon) on – hours later I was pain free and 48 hours later the huge blister was history and I now can continue to abuse my 63-year-old body! The physician was planning surgery. After a trial using Silverlon®, the wound healed completely in three nursing visits.”

Well, we went from not having any patients to having 4 in a 6 hour period (all from separate occurrences). We used Silverlon on 2 of the 4 patients (that is all we had), and so far we've all been very impressed. One patient was a deep grease burn to the back that looked definitely like third degree burn in triage, but the next day looked quite a bit better and he may avoid grafting. The other patient was a flash burn to the hand (gas poured into a carburetor), not a very deep burn but usually very painful. With the Silverlon dressing, this patient (who happens to be a Urologist) rated his worst pain at level 2 on the 1-10 scale. Dr. Klein is very pleased and wants to get a whole bunch of your product ordered.

I have to tell you, I burned my finger badly today on a boiling cup of tea, got a huge blister almost immediately...I put ice on it, then dried it and put on a SILVERLON bandaid; within a few minutes it didn't hurt at all! Several hours later, I still don't have any pain. I've had bad burns like this before, and usually they throb and hurt so badly you can hardly sleep. I'm thrilled!
